Hey everyone, we're the Sons – Amanda and my 3 children-

Brooke (17), Julious (12), and Drew (9). Hurricane Helene completely wiped out our Swannanoa home – it was right on the river, and the water came up fast. We barely escaped with our lives; Julious even saved Drew from the floodwaters! We lost everything – house, belongings, the works. My savings were gone, and now we're dealing with not only the emotional trauma but the huge task of finding a new place to live and getting back on our feet. Although it has been months since the storm, my family is still struggling to pick up the pieces of what was once our life and try to put it back together again. In the last few months I have watched my only family members move away due to being unable to afford to stay in our hometown. Unfortunately, my children and I are also facing this as a new reality of our own. Only a few weeks after the storm happened, my marriage fell apart as well. So now it is just the kids and myself. I no longer have the support or financial support I once had. After months of searching the area, I have came to the conclusion that I cannot afford to live in my hometown or the surrounding areas. After losing my business I have had to find employment and it wasn't easy. But even with income coming in, I cannot afford rent and all the other bills on my own in this area. So I am hoping to save and move in the next few months. I have ran into some financial trouble trying to make this happen. My truck now has two bad tires (a screw in two seperate tires) and I cannot afford new tires for my truck. So lack of reliable transportation has my new job at risk of being lost. My daughter's car also needs a few repairs before it is road ready as well. So, I am here asking for any help anyone can provide.
