Dear Family and Friends,
We never imagined we’d be writing something like this—but here we are, reaching out from a place of both deep vulnerability and hope.
For years, Muna Grace has battled various health issues without complete answers. But at the beginning of this year, things took a scary turn. After a sudden fall, she was hit with a six-week-long migraine. What followed was a storm of symptoms— severe nausea, blood sugar irregularities, joint pain, extreme fatigue, and days where she simply couldn’t function. She had to call off work, cancel commitments, and most heartbreaking of all—there were many days she didn’t have the strength to care for our daughter the way she wanted to.
After countless appointments, tests, and visits to specialists, we finally received an answer: Lyme Disease.
As we began learning more about it, we started seeing red flags in Gage’s health, too—symptoms he’s dealt with silently for most of his life without answers. Following his doctor’s advice, he was tested too, and to our surprise, his results also came back positive.
The diagnosis brought both relief and fear. Relief that we finally had a name for what has been going on. Fear because Lyme is a complex and often misunderstood illness that can affect every part of the body and mind.
The past six months have been some of the most difficult we have ever faced. This disease has impacted every area of our lives physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially.
But after all of this, we finally have hope.
With the guidance of Physicians we trust, we’ve been referred to Dr. Erlandson, a Lyme specialist in Wisconsin. His treatment, called LymeStop, has helped thousands of people recover—including many patients referred by our own doctors who have seen life-changing results. They believe this is the right path for us, and for the first time in a long time, we do too.
We’ll be traveling to Wisconsin this August to begin treatment, and we’ll return later this year to complete it. Unfortunately, this treatment isn’t covered by insurance, and the financial strain is heavy. We’ll also be testing our daughter, since Lyme can be passed during pregnancy and nursing. If she tests positive, we’ll begin treatment for her as well.
More than anything, this is about being the parents she deserves. We want to be healthy and present—not just surviving, but thriving—so she can grow up in a joyful, stable home. We’re doing all we can—changing many parts of our lifestyle, following our Physicians’ guidance, and holding onto faith that healing is possible.
Now, we’re reaching out to ask for your support.
If you’re able to give any amount or to simply share this with someone who might be able to help—we would be so incredibly grateful. Every bit gets us closer to healing, and to the life we want to live as a family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking this journey with us—through your love, your prayers, and your kindness.
With love and gratitude,
Gage & Muna Grace Gwartney
