This has been a year full of unexpected surprises.
At the beginning of the year we found out we were pregnant!!!! So exciting!!!
Five years ago we moved to Bocas del Toro with a dream.
Open up our own Bed & Breakfast right over the ocean, stay connected to nature, surf, have more of a simple life and work hard to make our family grow.
We´ve hosted over 300 couples a year in our home and we´ve met some pretty amazing people.
It has been such a wonderful experience, so many stories to tell, happy times, dinners with guests, laughs and of course beautiful memories.
They say when you do what you love you will never work another day in your life, and this is exaclty how it felt.
Guests became family and it was such a pleasure to guide people in their travels.
This year was different though.
Second surprise hit us at the end of March when the world got infected with this crazy virus that´s been changing everyone´s lives.
We live on an island that depends mainly on tourism and after this situation started with the COVID virus we´ve had no work at all.
Panama is still pretty behind getting things under control.
Everything continues to be shut down, we have major restrictions and we have no idea on when things will get back to normal again.
Bocas del Toro is a small island and we don´t count with a good medical care on the island.
We are expecting our baby to come first week of september and have to travel to Panama City to deliver.
The public medical system of Panama is not well known for being the best plus it is now collapsing after the increase of cases we´ve had on the country lately.
We would love to have our baby in a safe environment, out of the hospital, where my husband and I can share the experience together and to have a doctor that actually respects our decision on how to bring our child into this world.
