Help Ferron Family Farms Build a Meat Cutting Facility for Food Sovereignty
We are Ferron Family Farms, a first-generation Black-owned farm in New Brunswick, Canada. Our mission is to provide naturally raised meats and strengthen food sovereignty for our family, community, and People of Color (POC).
We’re raising funds to build a meat cutting and processing facility — a vital step toward sustainability and access to fresh, culturally significant meats.
While we will continue collaborating with our trusted local butchers, this facility will give us the ability to cut, prepare, and package meats in accordance with cultural traditions and community preferences.
Currently, no nearby facilities are equipped or authorized to handle such specialized, heritage-based processing, which limits access to nutritious, affordable, and culturally meaningful foods.
With your support, we can:
✅ Build our own meat cutting facility on-farm
✅ Process and package meat according to cultural demands
✅ Offer traditional cuts and preparations not available elsewhere
✅ Keep food production local and community-centered
If everyone donates even $10, we can make this vision a reality—empowering families, honoring culture, and preserving food traditions for generations to come.
Your contribution—big or small—brings us one step closer to a self-sufficient, culturally rooted food future.
Thank you for your support and for sharing our story. Together, we can create lasting change.
With gratitude,
Ferron Family Farms
What is Food Sovereignty? While food security ensures access to food, food sovereignty focuses on who controls food production and how it’s grown, processed, and distributed. It empowers farmers and local communities to make decisions about their food systems instead of relying on industrialized, mass-produced alternatives that often lack freshness, quality, and cultural relevance.
