Help Us Grow Our Family With A Child

Donation protected

My beautiful wife and I are hoping to raise $15,000 to help offset the costs of growing our family while struggling with infertility.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions we've received during our very difficult journey, including the planning of this fundraiser, which will help tell our story.

When are you going to have children?
The answer started with "When we're ready," because from the time we were married, we were being asked that intrusive question before we even settled into our shoebox apartment or got our full-time jobs in order. Eventually, though, we were ready to grow our family... but her body wasn't. My wife suffers from Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which, among other very uncomfortable symptoms, makes it difficult if not impossible for her to get pregnant without expensive medical intervention.

How are you doing / are you okay? Physically, yes. My wife has put herself through hell in order to make some AMAZING and inspiring lifestyle changes. While it hasn't been enough to garner fertility success, her physical health has improved significantly. Emotionally, every day is a varying degree of struggle for both of us. From seeing the love between our friends & relatives and their kids, to drudging through the holidays wishing we had children to share them with, our hearts are sore, and without the support of each other and our closest loved ones, we're not sure how we'd be getting through this.

Have you tried / considered __________? Yes, over 4 years, almost every option has been brought to our attention. We've thoroughly researched each one, tried the ones we could afford and were comfortable with, and while we're still deciding on the best path for our family, it's inevitable that there will be a huge financial cost no matter which route we take moving forward.

So why GoFundMe? It is incredibly humbling to take what we felt was our "last option" in funding this journey. We've already spent thousands of dollars to treat my wife's PCOS, but after nearly 7 years married and 4 years of trying to conceive, it's still just the two of us and our two beautiful dogs. At this point, any of our "next steps" are going to push our expenses into the five-figure region, which will either force us to put our plans on hold and pay upfront, or finance the costs which would put us in significant debt before we even incur the costs of raising the child. We want to make sure that when this finally does happen for us, we are as well-positioned as any other family to financially care for our little miracle.

When do you need the money by? Since my wife is a teacher, we are hoping to take these next steps in late spring or early summer 2020, so that she can navigate them full-time during summer break. Consider the completing of our family a 2020 "New Year's Resolution," if you will.

How will you use the money / what if you don't end up needing it all? All donations will go toward the cost of expanding our family to the ultimate goal of 2 adults and 2 children. Once that's obtained, any remaining funds will be placed directly into a savings account for the kids' college funds or other emergency expenses. All donations will be placed in a separate account from our personal ones, and will ONLY be used for our eventual children's benefit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this ... and for your consideration in helping us become the family we've always dreamed of.
