My wife Sage and I have been on a long and emotional journey to grow our family. Sage is a three-time liver-kidney transplant recipient, and while her strength and resilience inspire me every day, her medical history means that carrying a child herself would put her life at serious risk. We turned to surrogacy with hope in our hearts, and after a challenging process, we were blessed with a pregnancy. Our baby boy, Theodore, was meant to be the big brother to his future little sister, but tragically, he passed away in utero at 37 weeks. This loss has left us heartbroken, but still determined to become parents together.

Despite the pain, Sage and I are not giving up on our dream. We had originally planned for Theodore to be a big brother and only do one more round of surrogacy, but with his passing, we now hope to pursue two more rounds of surrogacy so the future girls will have siblings to love and cherish. The costs of surrogacy are significant—covering legal fees, agency payments, surrogate compensation, and extensive medical expenses. We have already spent a significant amount during this journey for our son who we will never get to see become a man, and are now looking at twice those costs for the additional round we weren't planning on doing. Our story has been hard, and we've walked a razor thin line between Sage's health and funding these journeys to have a family of our own.

I will do anything to make Sage a mom, because she deserves it more than anyone I know. We want to build our family and create a loving home where Sage and our future children can feel cherished and safe.
