Who are we?

We are Impala Frisbee Club, founded in 2015 and with a proud history of success. Our goal as a club is to build and develop talent, grow a new generation of competitive and elite Ultimate Frisbee players. We are also a community, and aim to continue to run pick-up sessions open to all and make the sport easily accessible to new players.

Why we need your help

Since the pandemic lockdown, the club has experienced several changes, including new players, lack of central training grounds, and a growing African ultimate frisbee scene. We have growing numbers of male players but female players remain few, affecting competitive opportunities in Uganda and regionally where competitions are predominantly in mixed gendered format. Young players often struggle with membership and tournament fees and is the main barrier to competitive opportunities and why Impala has not been able to consistently send a team to regional events.

We're currently gearing up for the upcoming All African Club Championships 2025 which is held in Uganda and an opportunity for several players to represent the club. Up against the 17 teams across Africa, we are determined to win. However we have struggled with training attendance especially because the field currently available to us is not at a central location and poor traffic and transport cost are often a barrier.

We are extremely grateful for your support. Your contribution will directly impact our team's performance and the development of Ultimate Frisbee in the region. Our players are active in contributing back to community - including coaching new players at pick-up, growing the sport within their own church groups, volunteering at Uganda Flying Disc Federation events and activities, including growing the sport in districts in Uganda to enable it to achieve recognition as a national sport to access funding.
