On the afternoon of Friday, April 2nd, my mother Kamara Houston unexpectedly passed away due to a cardiac event. 

She had been having heart problems for a while and was on medication for it. Her blood pressure was very high due to stress and other factors, and she also suffered from tachycardia. 

This loss has hit me (her daughter), her son Khi, and the rest of her family and friends extremely hard. We are trying to take things one day at a time, it is just all so unfathomable. 

We have decided to have her cremated, and her ashes will be spread somewhere on the Oregon Coast; a place that she was very fond of. A small memorial of some sort will most likely be planned for people who would like to get together and mourn, though I am not yet sure when. 

My mother was a very hard worker and always kept herself busy. After the disappearance of her mother, Judy Parker, life did not cease to give my mom a break. I have no doubt that the stress and heartbreak that she felt every day is what led to her health problems, and I will forever wish that I would have been aware of severity of her health issues. 

My mother was so smart, so caring, and so loving. She was always there to help anyone who needed it. I, and so many others, loved her dearly. I am going to miss her so very much, and I hope more than anything that she is at peace. 

I am organizing this gofundme to help with the expenses of her cremation, any potential costs of a small memorial which may be held, and to help with Uhaul rental costs/storage unit costs, as my mother was in the process of moving houses and we are going to need a way to move and store her belongings. Any remainder of funds will be used to support us while we are out of work.
