Help Us Give Victor Santiago the Farewell He Deserves.
My name is Aida Luz Altu Gordon. My beloved brother, Victor Manuel Santiago, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Victor was truly an angel on Earth. Though he spent most of his life under the care of the state due to his need for constant supervision and assistance, he never let his circumstances define him. His million-dollar smile lit up every room, and his spirit touched everyone he met. He had several close calls with death, but he always reassured us with his favorite words:
“Don’t worry. Be happy.”In his childlike innocence, he was a disc jockey, always singing, playing instruments and dancing. He taught us all about unconditional love and the spirit of happiness. Victor never married, but he was never alone. He had a way of making everyone feel like family. As children, we would travel with our parents to visit him at the care facility —long train rides that always ended with big hugs and laughter.
Victor meant so much to so many. Now, we want to honor him with the dignity and love he gave so freely to others. We are raising funds to help cover the cost of his funeral and burial. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to our family and help us give Victor the farewell he truly deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this difficult time.
