In Loving Memory of Our Son, Victor Dean Buchanan

There are no words big enough for what it feels like to love someone you know you’ll have to say goodbye to. Our sweet baby boy, Victor Dean Buchanan, was so deeply wanted and so endlessly loved from the moment we knew he was here. We recently learned that Victor has a condition (Anencephaly) that means he won’t be able to stay with us long, and our hearts have been breaking ever since.

We’re trying to hold on to every piece of light we can. to cherish every kick, every heartbeat, every moment that he’s safe with me. Even though his time on earth will be short, we want his life to be surrounded by love, gentleness, and peace. He deserves that, and so much more.

As we prepare for his birth and for the hardest goodbye we’ll ever face, we’re also having to make plans no parent should ever have to think about… his cremation, a small memorial, and a few keepsakes to hold close when our arms are empty.
