They say “Hindsight is 2020 vision” and no one could have ever foreseen the events of 2020, let alone how they would continue to dramatically affect people globally including the people and communities of Indonesia and Bali, but now it is 2021, and we are only looking forward!

In March 2020, we created the  “Reliable Foundation Legacy Wall” initiative to raise funds to build the John Fawcett Foundation a new home in Bali that will house all their facilities in one location - a free eye health clinic, a training facility that educates and nurtures future ophthalmologists, nurses and optical technicians, a laboratory for making prosthetic eyes, space for management staff, visiting families, and the growing fleet of Mobile Eye Clinics. This year, with your help, we want to build on that great start and bring our vision to life!

Millions of Indonesians are still blind and the JFF are not able to travel to those communities or even perform local village clinics with circumstances as they still are. Even with the restrictions in place, the JFF has a clear vision forward and needs your help. 

Through the support of the Reliable Foundation and the Reliable Education community, the JFF aims to have the permanent facility built and operational in the very near future. 

With your help, and when safe to resume their incredible work, the new facility will allow the JFF to screen over 50,000 people per year and provide free cataract surgeries to over 5000 people per year, giving them and their community a brighter and better future. Your generous donation and support, not only helps restore sight to those people, it frees them to become active members of their families and communities, it releases their family members from being caregivers, it allows them to gain education and employment, it gives them back hope and most importantly, their dignity.

You can be part of the everlasting legacy by donating an amount of $500 or $250 and receiving a special gift of a tile that will form a permanent part of the JFF Headquarters and clinic. 

These tiles will have your name or your family's names inscribed and will be on permanent display to all who visit the JFF Clinic. 

Not only will the Tile/s you purchase be part of the incredible Reliable Foundation Legacy Wall in the JFF clinic, when the clinic is built, you will also receive a duplicate engraved Tile, to have at your home or office to display as a beautiful and personal reminder of your generous donation.

WHO ARE THE JOHN FAWCETT FOUNDATION?

JFF is a humanitarian not-for-profit organisation that assists disadvantaged people in Indonesia, with its main focus on sight restoration and blindness prevention in East Java, Bali and surrounding regions.

With the generous support of the Reliable Foundation and donors like you, the JFF offers its assistance to people completely free of charge and without religious, political or ethnic consideration. The JFF's humanitarian projects include Sight Restoration and Blindness Prevention, Children’s Corrective Surgery, Prosthetic Eyes and Technology Transfer.

Last years fundraiser:

In March 2020 the Reliable Foundation Legacy Wall fundraising initiative was launched and the generous support from the Reliable Education community raised nearly $30,000 during the Reliable Education RE6 Virtual Summit.  

We want to build on that momentum, and focus on helping JFF take a step closer to building their permanent home.

Prelude to the Reliable Foundation Legacy Wall Initiative:

In March 2019 at the RE5 Student Summit, the incredible community of Reliable Education students along with Co-founders, Adam Hudson and Joe Olejnik and their Reliable Foundation, led by Christopher Dean & Angela Lawson, came together to raise an incredible $265,000 AUD in 3 days!

This amazing effort allowed the JFF to build a brand new MEC (Mobile Eye Clinic), nicknamed RHINO1.

The new MEC will enable the JFF to Give the Gift of Sight to 10's of thousands of needy people in Bali and Indonesia over the life of the vehicle. 

70 students, family and friends travelled to Bali in October 2019 for the trip of a lifetime to officially handover and launch the RHINO1 with the JFF.
