Just as we were about to leave for our one-year wedding anniversary, finally feeling like we were ready to move forward with things, life took a turn we didn’t expect.

Right as we were leaving, Sinatra suddenly couldn’t urinate. We instantly knew something was wrong, he started crying and acting strange, and it all happened so fast. We rushed him to the vet, where they told us he was blocked, which is apparently common this time of year, but he’s only four. From there, it was bad news after bad news. Then yesterday we finally got good news, only to be told 12 hours later that he had a tear in his bladder and abdomen.

We went to see him, and despite everything, he’s still full of life and his same sweet, sassy personality. The doctors said that with abdominal surgery, he should come through like nothing ever happened.

Sinatra isn’t just a cat to us; he’s family. He’s an extension of us, truly our baby. He has the biggest personality and has been by our side through everything. During Covid, he saved me in ways I can’t even put into words. We honestly can’t picture moving into our first home without him there with us.

The vets say that all things considered, he’s healthy, and we just couldn’t justify putting down a healthy cat who still has so much love and life left in him. We’re working hard to cover his care, but the medical bills have been overwhelming.

It’s incredibly humbling and honestly a little embarrassing to ask for help, but we’re doing everything we can to give Sinatra the life he deserves. Anything, truly anything, helps. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us keep our little family together.
