It is with shattered hearts that we share the devastating loss of our beloved sister, Shona, who passed away in the early hours of 23/04/2026 at just 40 years old, after a long and unbelievably brave six-year battle with cancer.

For six years, Shona endured more than most people could ever imagine. She faced round after round of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, countless treatments, endless appointments, and hundreds of journeys to The Christie Hospital for scans, tests, and specialist care. She lived through pain, exhaustion, fear, and heartbreak, yet she continued to fight with incredible strength and courage every single day. No matter how hard things became, she kept going for the people she loved most, especially her children.

Shona was a deeply loved daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She had a strength that inspired everyone around her, even in her darkest moments. Cancer may have taken so much from her, but it never took her love, her spirit, or the devotion she had for her family.

Above everything, Shona adored her four young children. They were her world, her pride, and the reason she fought so hard for so long. Our hearts are broken not only because we have lost her, but because those beautiful children have lost their mum far too soon. We take comfort in knowing that she was able to see her children one last time in the hours before she passed away in hospital, surrounded by love.

Throughout this heartbreaking journey, there were friends who stood by her side, who truly cared, and who stepped up when it mattered most. They offered love, strength, practical help, and support not only to Shona, but to her children and family right until the very end. We will never forget the kindness shown to her during the hardest days of her life.

We are now raising funds to help cover the cost of Shona’s funeral and to give her the loving and dignified farewell she deserves. Any money raised beyond funeral costs will go directly towards helping support her children as they face life without their mum.
