Help Us Give Shane Wilkinson a Proper Farewell

On October 24, 2024, our family was struck with very unexpected, very devastating news. My father, Shane Wilkinson, decided his time on earth was ready to come to an end. He was a father, a son and friend to many, and this has left us all feeling a large mix of emotions. One thing you ought to know about Shane; when his mind was set on something, there was nothing and nobody that could tell him otherwise. He’s had many highs and many lows, each one impacting plenty of lives in the process.

As of last year, the social services department changed their financial assistance policies for grievance services, no longer providing a full funeral service, only the cremation or burial costs. Taking their assistance would eliminate the final opportunity for our family and friends to make peace, find forgiveness and receive very much needed closure. I refuse to let that happen without trying every possible avenue first. Pushing aside my pride, here I am asking for help. Whether it’s $1, a share, or just a prayer, they all go a long way in helping ease this burden for our family and allowing us to properly mourn and process our loss. His services are going to cost us roughly $7,000. This doesn’t include the cost of urns/keepsakes for loved ones; nor any other unavoidable expenses that come along with such a horrific situation. If the goal is met; any additional funds will be used towards personal keepsakes for our family to contain his ashes, and the remainder will provide financial assistance to his children and grandchildren in hopes to provide some sort of relief to get us through this hardship.
