My name is Laura Galindo, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and a plea for help.
Late last year, my husband—just 35 years old—was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, a type of cancer that changed our lives overnight. Since then, he has been bravely fighting through rounds of chemotherapy, pain, and uncertainty. It’s been one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.
For the past 7 months, my husband has been unable to work due to his condition, and I have become the sole provider for our family. We have two beautiful daughters who give us strength every day, but the emotional and financial weight has been incredibly heavy. Between caring for the kids, supporting my husband, and trying to make ends meet, I’m doing everything I can—but it’s not enough.
Although we usually receive his chemotherapy treatments and medications through our local Mexican hospital (IMSS), there have been critical shortages, forcing us to purchase many of the medications ourselves—at a cost we simply cannot afford. These include:
- Ondansetron
- Diphenhydramine
- Brentuximab
- Etoposide
- Cyclophosphamide
- Dacarbazine
- Dexamethasone
- Epirubicin
- Dexrazoxane
On top of this, we now need to travel to Puebla for a PET scan, which is not available in our city. This scan is absolutely necessary to determine whether the cancer is gone after his final round of chemotherapy—which is this Friday. The travel, stay, and scan are additional expenses we simply don’t have the funds for right now.
As much as it hurts to ask for help, I’m putting my pride aside because my husband’s health, and our family’s future, depends on it. Every little bit helps—whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this campaign with others.
Your donation will go directly to:
- Purchasing the remaining chemotherapy medications
- Covering travel costs to Puebla
- Paying for the PET scan
We’re hoping to make the trip in early May, shortly after his last chemo treatment. We pray this will be the final step before we can hear the words “cancer-free.”
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for caring, and for standing with us in this fight. With your help, we believe we can overcome this.
With love and gratitude,
Laura Galindo
