Hi, my name is Carmen, and I’m fundraising to help give Mikey, who is only 18 years old, the beautiful and dignified send-off he deserves.

I’m currently going through my own cancer journey, and Mikey and I have supported each other every step of the way. We’ve shared strength, fear, hope, and honesty — and this has created a bond that means the world to me.

Recently, we received the heartbreaking news that Mikey has been given 4–6 weeks left with us, after fighting with unbelievable courage. His cancer has spread to his bones, bone marrow, and possibly his brain. No young person should ever have to go through this, and no family should ever have to hear those words.

Back in August, so many of you kindly supported Mikey’s GoFundMe for his 18th birthday. Your generosity brought him joy during a time when he really needed it. None of us ever imagined we would now be facing this.

With this happening right at Christmas, the pain feels especially cruel. Our focus is to surround Mikey with love and to give him the beautiful farewell he truly deserves.

All funds raised will go towards Mikey’s funeral costs and supporting his family during this unbearably difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean so much.
