Aloha! My name is Joelynn and my family and I are heartbroken to share that Michael "Mika" Doctolero has passed away on August 07, 2025, at 1:29 pm. Mika brought so much light to everyone he met with his beautiful voice and, most of all, his handcrafted driftwood art pieces. He will be deeply missed by Steve Kline, family, friends, and the many people who were touched by his warmth and creativity in everything he touched. I have set up this fundraiser to help cover the rest of the funeral expenses in Kauai, where Michael AKA Mika's family is making the arrangements. Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to ensure Michael "Mika" receives a proper farewell that honors his life and his memory.
What the funds will cover:
- Funeral services and related ceremony costs
- Any necessary memorial programs and administrative costs
- A modest reception or gathering for friends and family, if possible
About Mika AKA Michael:
- A devoted friend and family member who found joy in music and song.
A talented person who could do it all: cook, dance hula, sing, and paint art, bringing nature's beauty into homes and hearts.
- A kind, generous person who valued connections, community, and the simple moments that matter.
Why we're asking for help:
Funeral costs can add up quickly, and arranging a meaningful farewell in Kauai adds unique expenses. We want to give Michael a respectful, heartfelt goodbye that reflects who he was and the impact he had on those who knew him. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward creating a dignified service and a lasting memory.
How you can help:
- Donate what you can. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and to giving Michael AKA Mika a proper sendoff.
- Share this campaign with friends, family, and anyone who knew Michael "Mika" Doctolero.
- Leave a message of support. Personal stories and memories mean a lot to us during this time.
- I will provide updates on how funds are being used and share more details about the services as arrangements finalize. We are grateful for your generosity and kindness during this difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
From Michael AKA Mika's family and friends in Kauai and beyond, thank you for your love, prayers, and support. Your help means the world to us as we say goodbye and celebrate a life that brought so much beauty into the world.
With gratitude,
Joelynn and The Doctolero Family
