Marshmallow should have lived a simple, happy life —a tummy full of nutritious food, sunshine on her fur, and the comfort of her sister beside her.

Instead, she arrived to us with her basic welfare needs not met and as a medical emergency.

Marshmallow was surrendered in a desperate medical state:

Severe dental disease

A deep nasal abscess causing infection and pain

A mass in her abdomen

And the heavy grief of losing her sister — who died last year from untreated medical problems

Both rabbits had been kept in inadequate hutch housing, without vaccinations, without neutering, and without the basic healthcare every living being deserves.

They were failed — over and over again.

But today, we are determined to rewrite the rest of Marshmallow’s story.

A United Effort to Save Her

Croydon Animal Samaritans and Little Furries Rabbit Rescue have joined forces to give Marshmallow the urgent sanctuary she needs. She has been examined by the kind and skilled exotic vet Rachel at East Barnet Vets, who immediately recognised just how critical her condition is.

Marshmallow now urgently needs:

✨ A spay to safely remove the abdominal mass

✨ A CT scan to see how deeply the infection and abscess has invaded her nasal cavity

✨ Specialist treatment to relieve her pain and help her breathe freely again

These steps will determine whether surgery can save her life — and whether Marshmallow gets the chance to finally know what comfort feels like.
