Help Us Give Lyric the Best Final Chapter
We take care of our dogs — always have, always will. But this one has been a wild ride.
Lyric, our happy, resilient pup, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma — an aggressive bone cancer. We’ve already covered the cost of her amputation and initial recovery ourselves, because that’s what we believe in: showing up fully for the animals who trust us.
Now we’re asking for help with what comes next.
Lyric is starting chemotherapy soon. This won’t cure her — but it will give her more good time. We’ve been told she may have 10 to 12 more months of tail wags, backyard zoomies, road trips, and time in the sun.
Chemotherapy affects dogs very differently than it does humans — there’s typically no nausea, no hair loss, and no feeling sick. This isn’t about dragging things out for us — it’s about giving her more time to feel like herself, happy and pain-free.
We rescued Lyric four years ago. She was about six at the time, hairless, covered in mange, yeast, and bacteria. With a lot of love (and vet care), we brought her back to full health. She’s since undergone TPLO surgery to repair a torn ligament in her knee — and she bounced back like a champ. She’s 10 now, and still has that same fight in her. We always choose to rescue and nurture the sick back to health — it’s just who we are.
Right now, she’s full of life — and we want to keep it that way for as long as we can. When the cancer starts to take hold, we’ll say goodbye with love and grace. But until then, we’re planning the best send-off a dog could ever have.
Chemotherapy will cost around $8,000, and we’re humbly asking for help to make it possible.
If you’re able to donate, it will go directly to her treatment. If not, sharing her story or sending a kind word means the world to us. We never imagined asking for this kind of help — but Lyric’s journey has shown us just how far we’re willing to go for those we love.
Thank you for being part of her story.
