Help Us Give Loki a Peaceful Goodbye

Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to write.

We’re asking for help for our dog, Loki — our best friend and our family.

Loki has been with us since he was just a tiny puppy, and from the very beginning he became so much more than a pet. He grew into this strong, loyal, larger-than-life presence… but at the same time, he’s always been a big softy at heart.

Recently, everything changed.

Loki has been diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer, most likely caused by an undiagnosed tumor that spread. Hearing that shattered us. One day he was just being his normal, goofy self… and now we’re facing the reality that our time with him is coming to an end far sooner than it ever should.

He’s still here with us right now. Still looking at us the same way. Still wanting to be close. Still being Loki.

Loki is a gentle giant — a protector who now needs protection himself. He may be a big dog, but his heart is even bigger. He truly believes he’s a lap dog and always wants to be right next to us.

He loves to “boop” you with his nose just to get your attention, and he’ll steal your slippers and run off with them like it’s the best game in the world. He’s goofy, loving, a little stubborn at times, and somehow always knows how to make people smile — even on the worst days.

He’s not just a dog. He’s our shadow, our comfort, our routine… our home.

So far, we’ve already spent about $675 on vet visits, diagnostics, X-rays, and ultrasounds through CareCredit just trying to understand what was happening. We would do it all again without hesitation — we just weren’t prepared for what came next.

Right now, he’s on medication to help his breathing and keep him comfortable, but we’ve been told it’s only a matter of time. We’re watching closely, trying to make sure that when the time comes, we make the most compassionate decision for him.

In the coming days, we will have to make the most painful decision of our lives — to let him go peacefully so he doesn’t suffer. We’re also planning one final quality-of-life visit to make sure we are doing right by him until the very end.

We are trying to cover the cost of:• Euthanasia• Cremation and memorial services• Final veterinary visit• The CareCredit balance already used for his diagnosis

After fees and expenses, we are hoping to raise $1,600 so we can focus on Loki — not finances — during this time.

This is one of the hardest things we’ve ever gone through.

Loki isn’t just our dog — he’s our family, our companion, and a piece of our everyday life that we’re not ready to lose.

If you are able to help in any way — even a small amount — it would mean more to us than we can ever put into words. And if you can’t donate, even sharing this would help us more than you know.

We just want to give Loki the peaceful, dignified goodbye he deserves. That’s all he’s ever given us — love, loyalty, and everything he had.

We are going to miss him in ways we don’t even understand yet.

Thank you for taking the time to read Loki’s story ❤️
