Hello, Lauren here, Lacey’s doggie mum
As some of you are aware, our beautiful girl Lacey has been unexpectedly diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma, a devastating and aggressive form of cancer.
On the 7th July, exactly 4 weeks before our wedding, i returned home from work to find Lacey collapsed. This was when our lives were turned upside down.
Following a frantic visit to the vets, we were advised she was very unwell and went for an emergency, life saving splenectomy.
This week, we have sadly been informed that her time with us is limited.
Despite everything, Lacey is still her sweet, brave, tail-wagging self. She’s been recovering well from surgery, noticeably more tired, but managing to enjoy a bit of sunshine, short walks and a bit of ‘Bally’, which is her favourite.
We’re now looking into chemotherapy to give her more time, and to help her live out her days in a more comfortable way, with the people that love her the most.
Unfortunately, chemotherapy is expensive, starting at £4,000, meaning it comes with a significant financial burden, and not all of it is covered by insurance.
We’ve never asked for help like this before, but if you are able to contribute in any way—big or small—it would mean the world to us. Every little bit goes toward giving Lacey the chance to fight and stay with us for as long as she can.
Our wish is that she can be well enough to be by our side at our wedding in 2 weeks time, so we really hope to commence treatment as soon as possible.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us.
Lacey has brought so much love and joy into our lives, and many others. With your help, we hope to give her the same in return.
