Our dog kuma has been with us since 2020. We adopted him from a shelter as heartworm positive, we knew his life would be shorter than it should. He's now 7 and has been on a steady decline. For the first time in his life he's had a seizure, is struggling to move, and his quality of life is declining. We can't afford testing and don't want to subject him to it. We know the time has come and we'd like to be able to have him returned to us in the end. If anyone could please help us so I can put him at peace and bring him home it would be greatly appreciated.

Kuma passed away at 3:15pm on 11/4. Kuma had lost 20 pounds since he was last seen in August, despite there being no change in his diet. His hair was falling out in clumps and he was dealing with blood clotting issues. All of that and the sudden onset seizures lead the vet to believe we were dealing with some form of cancer. Kuma had 2 seizures within 6 hours. The Vet believed that letting him go was the humane thing to do. Between the weight loss and the bleeding disorder and now the seizures. We didn't have many options. We are hurting. Kuma was honestly the best boy ever. Gentle and kind and never left a lap unfilled. If you sat. He sat with you. When I went to bed, he hopped in the bed before I got there. We are truly going to miss our best boy.
