This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, yet it is also the greatest honor—to speak on behalf of the man who was the father of my child. Today, we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Jose Angel Garcia.
Angel was so much more than his name. He was funny, joyful, and full of life. He had a heart that cared deeply, not only for his family but for everyone fortunate enough to know him. To his child, he was a loving father. To his family, a cherished grandson, son, nephew, cousin and sibling. And to his friends, he was a light—someone who could bring laughter and warmth to any room.
Angel was an amazing father. No matter the challenges he faced, he always put his son Johnathan first. That was simply who he was—a man who loved with his whole heart and never hesitated to sacrifice his own comfort if it meant giving his son a better day, a brighter future, and a stronger foundation.
Angel’s love language was often cooking for others—a quiet, beautiful way he showed how much he cared. Whether it was a simple meal after a long day or a full feast during the holidays, that was him. It was his way of giving a piece of himself to the people he loved.
Angel passing was sudden and it left all of us heartbroken and unprepared. In this difficult time we are reaching out to ask for any donation no matter how big or small, so we can give him that burial he truly deserves. We want to give Angel a resting place close to the people who loved him the most—family, friends and especially our son. It's important to us that Johnathan has a place to visit and feel connected to his father.
