Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Sue and it is with a deep and heavy heart that I reach out for your support in giving my beloved friend, Jacqui, the dignified farewell she deserves.

Jacqui passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 11th February 2025, leaving behind her children, family, and friends who loved her dearly.

Jacqui’s life was marked by adversity, but her strength and resilience were unmatched. She battled through a challenging childhood, including a serious battle with rheumatic fever. In her early 30s, when her children were young, she was diagnosed with a rare disease that nearly took her life, but she fought her way through it to be there for her kids. Then, in her 40s, she survived a heart attack. And in her late 50s, she underwent open-heart surgery, enduring pain and hardship to keep moving forward. Throughout it all, Jacqui never gave up, showing incredible love and devotion to her family, despite losing all but one of her siblings.

However, after her surgery, the Covid-19 pandemic and the isolation that came with lockdowns took a severe toll on Jacqui’s mental health. She became increasingly fearful of the world around her, and her anxiety became a constant struggle. Sadly, her fears were often dismissed, and the emotional toll on her was devastating.

In January 2025, Jacqui was hospitalised with the flu. Her children repeatedly asked if they should be concerned about her health, but were reassured by the hospital that there was nothing to worry about. She was discharged two weeks later, only to return to the hospital a week later, much weaker. During her second hospitalisation, Jacqui was not given the proper care she needed. Despite her condition worsening, the staff dismissed the urgency of her situation. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, but still, her children were told there was no cause for concern. Jacqui spent two days without adequate care and was left without dignity, having to manage basic bodily functions in ways no one should have to. Tragically, just days later, she passed away, leaving her children devastated and without the chance to say goodbye.

Jacqui’s passing was heartbreaking, and knowing how she was treated in her final days has been incredibly difficult for her children. Despite everything she had endured, she deserved more care, respect, and dignity in her final moments.

We invite everyone to reflect on the remarkable qualities that defined Jacqui as a woman - her strength, warmth, kindness, and sense of humour. Her life was rich with more than just her struggles. Let us pay tribute to her memory by celebrating the extraordinary individual she was.
One endearing memory of Jacqui was her playful nature, often mixing up her words and playfully teasing her children to keep their eyes shut tight while washing their hair. This lighthearted moment captures her unique charm and love for her family. (Eyes shite tight)

We know times are tough for many, but if you are able to help, your support would mean the world to us. The funds raised will go towards covering funeral expenses, helping us give Jacqui the respectful and dignified farewell she truly deserves.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand, and sharing this page or keeping Jacqui in your thoughts and prayers is just as meaningful.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time. Jacqui was loved by so many, and her memory will always live on in our hearts.

All details regarding Jacqui's funeral will be shared here once the investigation at the hospital has been finalised and we are able to make funeral arrangements. Thank you.

With love and gratitude.
