Help Us Give Hunter the Freedom He Deserves
Donation protected

My name is Cassie, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea on behalf of my nephew, Hunter, and his incredible mum, Laura.
Hunter is nearly 7 years old. He came into this world with a rare and relentless form of epilepsy that couldn’t be controlled by medication. His seizures were so severe and frequent that they left doctors with one life-saving but unimaginable option: a hemispherectomy removing half of his brain.
Thanks to this surgery, Hunter is still with us today. And while his journey of recovery has been nothing short of miraculous, it’s also been filled with unimaginable challenges.
Hunter lives with partial paralysis on the left side of his body, is non-verbal, and relies on a wheelchair for mobility. But don’t let that fool you Hunter is cheeky, vibrant, determined, and so full of life.
As he grows, so do the physical demands of caring for him. Laura, a devoted single mum, now struggles to lift and transfer him in and out of the car a task that is no longer safe or sustainable. What Hunter needs most right now is a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
While the NDIS will cover the cost of modifying a vehicle to suit Hunter’s needs, they do not provide the actual car. It must be less than five years old and large enough for the modifications, placing the entire financial burden on Laura who simply cannot meet this cost on her own. With no family local to help and limited access to support workers, her ability to get Hunter out into the world is becoming more and more restricted.
This is where we’re hoping you can help.
We’re raising funds to purchase a suitable car so Hunter can attend school, go to therapy, enjoy playdates, and explore life beyond the four walls of his home something every child deserves. More than just a car, this is a lifeline. It’s freedom. It’s independence. It’s a chance for both Hunter and Laura to breathe again, to feel supported, and to reconnect with the world.
We know there are many worthy causes out there. But if you’re in a position to contribute even just a small amount or help us spread the word, it would mean the world to our family. Every share, every dollar, every act of kindness brings us one step closer to giving Hunter the life he deserves.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
