Help Us Give Frankie-Tyler His Independence Back

Good afternoon,

hello I’m Naomi, Frankie-Tyler mum, due to the complexity in the household myself or my partner can not not work. Due to himself being the full time carer for all three of us as myself suffers from ullrich muscular dystrophy.

I never imagined having to fundraise again for another piece of essential equipment, but sadly, due to strict NHS regulations, we are only allowed to have one walker for Frankie-Tyler — meaning we must use the same frame for both home and school. Which as you imagine for three of us within the family having complex needs is very challenging for us. This is why we’re hoping to have Walker at home at all times (one we’re fundraising for) and the nhs one will remain at school once it’s repaired and returned.

Recently, while transporting the walker between school and home, it was accidentally damaged. Now, we’re facing a long wait of several months for a replacement through the NHS.

This has left our 4-year-old son, Frankie-Tyler, completely without independence. Frankie has Ullrich Muscular Dystrophy, a rare muscle condition that means he cannot walk without a frame. Maintaining the strength he currently has is crucial to ensuring he has the best possible quality of life.

Frankie’s younger brother, Freddie, also has the same condition. Having a walker at home would give both boys the chance to be as independent as possible, taking turns until Freddie becomes eligible for one through the NHS.

More importantly, having our own walker would ensure it stays safely at home, avoiding damage during transport — and making sure the boys are never left without any mobility support.

We’re kindly asking for your help. If we can raise the funds for a home walker, it would mean the absolute world to our family. Frankie’s biggest dream is to be able to walk like his friends — and with your help, we can bring him one step closer.
