As most of you know, on July 25th, 2025, my grandmother, Emily Bottoms, unexpectedly passed away from a stroke, and on April 3rd, 2018, she had unexpectedly lost her husband, Paul Bottoms, my grandfather. My grandparents helped raise me and my siblings our entire life, devoting 24 years to us, not counting the 17 years they raised my mother. Neither of my grandparents had any sort of life insurance, so my mother had to resort to trustee's help to bury my grandfather, and I had to resort to trustees to help with my grandmother's funeral expenses. Even with the help that was given, we still faced bills of $2,500 for each of them to be buried. My grandparents had absolutely nothing when they passed. Two years ago, the house they lived in 90% of my life was set on fire due to arson, and the fire department refused to do an investigation because someone had tried to go down the next day and put the smoldering coals out.
To this day, they have not gotten any sort of headstone or markings for their plots. I'm starting this fundraising because I'm only 18 years old and make $12 an hour. I've recently unexpectedly found out I'm expecting a child, and I can't be approved for a loan this large! The cheapest option I've been given costs $3,576.96. My grandparents would have, and did, everything in their power to help anybody they could, even when it led to them getting behind on bills or any payments. I know that's a lot of money and most of us are struggling as it is right now, but recently someone has tried digging at my grandmother's plot and grass is starting to overgrow my grandfather's. Even if you could donate as little as $1, it could get us somewhere. The initial down payment for them to start the draft is $1,788.48, and they won't place the plot till the $3,000 is paid off. Any help with this would be more than appreciated! I'm just trying to get my grandparents what they deserve. They did everything for my family, and since we've lost them both, we've faced nothing but problems and hardships. Thank you in advance!
