They called — she is OK!

The vet found and removed an old piece of a rubber toy that had caused the blockage. We had thrown that toy out over a year ago, so crazy to find out it was still inside her all this time.

Bulma is in surgery now!

The ultrasound and X-ray didn’t give us clear answers, so she’s undergoing exploratory surgery. We’re hoping it’s just a simple blockage, but the doctor did caution that there could be something more serious causing her symptoms. We’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it.

I’ve updated the fundraising goal to help cover her aftercare.

Help Us Save Bulma!

Bulma, our sweet and loving dog, has a bowel obstruction. The vet has bought us a little time with fluids and anti-nausea medication, but she will fade fast without emergency surgery

Thanks to Ms. Joy, we were able to get her assessed at Premier Veterinary Group – Orland Park. Her vitals are stable, but her condition is life-threatening and could change quickly.

If the worst happens, we have what we need to bring her home thanks to the generosity of friends and family. But I’m not giving up. As the vet said last night: “She’s too sweet not to save.”

I’m fighting with everything I have to keep her with us.

Hi, my name is Ki, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest moments in any fur mom, dad, and sister's life... Our dog Bulma Chi Chi Marie is nearing the end of her life, and we need support to give her the peaceful goodbye she deserves, and to bring her home to rest beside her brother Broly’s ashes.

Bulma came to us as a stray, but she quickly became the heart of our family. She’s never been sick before, and now she’s fading fast. She’s in a lot of pain, won’t eat, play, or even go potty. We’re trying to get her an appointment as soon as possible, but she needs end-of-life care that we simply can’t afford right now.

Bulma has seen us through so much—her sister's homeschooling journey, and our sicknesses.... and things that shook our family to its core. Through it all, she’s been our comfort, our joy, and our healer. She’s always had love to give, always ready with a wagging tail, a tug-of-war challenge, belly rubs, and kisses to our ears.

We are doing everything we can to build a better future for our family, but with rising property taxes and limited resources, we can’t manage this event alone.

We want Bulma to be with us in her forever home... where she’s always belonged, and to lay her to rest next to her big brother Broly—here and in heaven.
