I’m Amiel and I’m raising money so that we can properly say goodbye to our family dog, Buddy.
I’ve been caring for him full time as a hospice case for a little over a year now. About this time last year, he stopped being able to use his back legs due to arthritis in his spine, but I’ve been around to help him with his everyday needs. I currently don’t have steady work apart from very sporadic gig jobs, and my dad works in retail part time. Caring for him has been basically a full time job on its own, but a labor of every ounce of love I could give. He’s no longer able to use his wheelchair, and his pain management is no longer helping him. His pain causes him anxiety anytime someone leaves the room. Unfortunately due to his condition, getting him to and from the vet has become nearly impossible. Getting him to an from the car would require him to be heavily sedated with items we don’t have as he’s 60 lbs, and moving his already fragile body may hurt him more or even cause him to bite us in the process.
I know his time has come, and I just want him to be as comfortable as possible. I’ve been given options for local at-home euthanasia with an estimate of about $1200. We just lost our other family dog, Lucy, almost exactly two months ago—her and Buddy were very very bonded, and her loss has deeply affected him.
Whatever amount could be given, even if we don’t meet our goal, would be a tremendous help for sending off my sweet baby boy with the least amount of stress possible, in his own bed in his own home.
Thank you for taking the time to read this <3
