Help Us Give Brody a Peaceful Farewell

Hi! As you all know. I have had Brody since June of 2007! That makes her 17 years old! Which translates to 119 years old in dog years. She has been my precious baby for so long! And in the past 5 years she has lost her teeth, her hearing, and her vision and she has developed dementia. In the past 6 months she has slowly been loosing her ability to walk. I joke around and say I am praying to God to just take her in her sleep, but in reality, I have been praying to God and asking him to give me a sign on when it’s time to take her in. I have been so selfish and wanting to keep her around because she’s such a big part of my life. I have been selfish and making excuses that she’s OK because I’m not ready to get let her go. But God answered my prayer today. This past week she has been barking through the entire night and I wake up to comfort her and then I go back to bed, but she wakes up about five times a night barking. This morning when I went to feed her some egg whites. I noticed that her eye is full of mucus and her entire eye is infected. I also noticed that she is having so much trouble standing at this point. So I think God answered my prayer and is telling me loud and clear that it’s time. It kills me to have to let her go. She was my first baby. She is the first dog that I have from the beginning to the very end. Brody was given to me as a gift on my 18th birthday. She came from a litter of six and she was the runt. But she is the only surviving Chihuahua out of the litter. She’s my sweet baby. She has always been such a wonderful girl. She has always been potty trained. She was the best listener. So obedient and she has been through it all with me. Through every move. Through every relationship and friendship. If she could talk. lol anyways I have been calling numerous places. And apparently it’s so expensive to put your dog down and receive her ashes back. Everywhere I call it’s $300 to euthanize them and $300 to get their body back. I am trying to call everywhere. This is a unexpected expense for our family. As we all know, it’s so expensive these days. So I have to call on my friends and family for help. For most of you that knew Brody, you knew that she was a feisty little Chi. But you also know that she was my little sidekick. Please help us put Brody to rest. We would love to have a at home euthanasia but it is very expensive. The cheapest one I found was $845 but they come to your house. They sedate her. When she has sedated, they do a keepsake of her paw and a lock of hair. They then inject her. They will then transport her to the third-party company when they cremate her. They will then put her in an urn and deliver her back to our house. As much as we would love to do this service it is a little more expensive so if people are willing to give, I will make an appointment with lap of love for $845
