Hi everyone,
This has been a really tough year for our family. We’ve been navigating the heartbreaking loss of my brother, recovering from a serious car accident, and managing time on short-term disability. It’s been a lot to carry—but through it all, our dogs have been a constant source of comfort and love.
Recently, we welcomed a rescue dog, Ace, into our home, hoping to give him the safe, happy life he deserves. Unfortunately, not long after coming home, he suffered a serious injury—he’s torn his CCL (the canine equivalent of an ACL) and now requires surgery to walk and live without pain again. We did try reaching out to the Ottawa Humane Society but were advised he didn't have any previous indicators of an injury (regardless of what our vet and doctors have said).
We’ve done everything we can to find the most responsible and affordable option. After receiving two quotes, we’ve chosen a highly recommended specialist clinic offering the procedure for $4,500 (half the price of the primary quote) —but even that is a significant financial strain given everything that’s happened this year.
We’re reaching out, humbly, to ask for help. If you’re able to contribute—no matter how small—it would mean the world to us and give Ace the chance to run, play, and live pain-free again. And if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. It truly means everything to our family.
