For Abe - With Love
This is Abe.
To most, he’s a beautiful dog with soulful eyes and a quiet, gentle heart. But to those of us who know him, Abe is so much more. He’s strength. He’s resilience. He’s the definition of unconditional love.
Abe was rescued by Emma over five years ago, after spending the first part of his life locked in a cage, mistreated, and forgotten. When Emma found him, he had never truly known what it meant to be safe — to be loved. She changed that. She gave him freedom, kindness, and a warm place to call home. She gave him everything — sometimes more than she gave herself.
And I’ve been lucky enough to witness their bond for over two years. Working alongside Emma, Abe became a part of my heart too. The way he would rest his head gently on your lap… the way he trusted again, slowly but fully… the way he loved, despite everything. He is, truly, one of the special ones.
But now, Abe is facing his hardest journey yet.
He has been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphocytic lymphoma. He’s tired. He moves slower now. But he still looks at Emma with those same loving eyes — the ones that say, “thank you for saving me.”
Chemotherapy offers a way to manage his pain, to keep him comfortable for a little while longer, to let him feel the breeze, enjoy his favorite patch of sun, and be held close when the time comes. But each session costs $3,000 — a cost that’s simply impossible for Emma to carry alone, as she lives with a disability and is supported by NDIS.
We’re not asking for a cure. We’re asking for comfort.
We’re asking for help to give Abe what he’s always deserved — dignity, peace, and love in his final days. Every donation, no matter how small, goes toward his treatment and care. Toward soft blankets, vet visits, and the chance to say goodbye gently, surrounded by the same love that healed him years ago.
Please help us honor Abe’s journey — from a lonely cage to a life filled with love — and let him leave this world with the same grace he brought into it.
Thank you, from the deepest part of our hearts,
For seeing him. For caring. For helping us carry him through this final chapter.
For Abe. Always.
