Help Us Give a Newly Married Man a Second Chance at Life

My name is Chioma Chukwurah, my family and I are seeking your support for our brother Nonso Chukwurah who has been battling End stage kidney failure at only 36 years old. In May 2025, he stepped into marriage full of hope, plans, and dreams for the future he was just beginning to build with his wife. No one imagined that a few weeks later, he would be sitting in hospital rooms instead of enjoying the early days of his new life.

In June 2025, Nonso was suddenly diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. What started as unexpected fatigue and puffy under-eyes quickly became a life-altering reality. Since then, he has been dependent on weekly dialysis sessions just to stay alive. He has undergone over 20 blood transfusions, multiple emergency room visits, and countless hospital admissions. Each week has been a battle to keep his strength up and his organs functioning.

Dialysis has helped him survive, but it is not a cure. Despite all efforts, his condition has continued to decline. His doctors have now recommended an urgent kidney transplant as the only long-term solution and the best chance for him to live a stable, healthy life again.

Watching a young husband fight for his life so soon after his wedding has been heartbreaking for our family. Instead of planning and building a home together, he and his wife are navigating hospital corridors, medical bills, and uncertainty. Yet through all of this, he remains hopeful and determined to live.

The cost of a kidney transplant, the required tests, medications, hospital care, and post-surgery treatment is far beyond what our family can manage alone. Dialysis alone is already financially and emotionally draining, but we continue because his life is priceless.

We are reaching out with humility and hope. Every donation, every share, and every prayer brings him closer to the chance of a normal life again, a life where he can work, love, and grow old with the woman he just married.

The total cost of transplant and care is $35,000. We are starting with an initial fundraising goal and will update it as we move forward.

Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Ongoing dialysis and medications
• Pre-transplant evaluations for both Nonso and his donor
• Kidney transplant surgery
• Post-transplant care for both Nonso and his donor and medications

Thank you for taking the time to read Nonso’s story and for standing with our family in this difficult season. Your support, no matter the size, truly makes a difference and gives him hope for tomorrow.
