Help Us Give a Headstone to a Dear Friend and Father Figure

This GoFundMe is to raise money for a headstone for a very special man in my life and in my mother’s life. He was more than just our neighbor – for me, he was like a second father.

My own father was never there for me, but this man always was. He watched over me while I grew up, bought me toys, picked me up from school, and helped my mother through very hard times as she raised me alone. He didn’t have to, but he chose to – and that made all the difference.

In his later years, he became very ill. Walking and taking care of himself became difficult, so we did our best to be there for him, just like he had always been there for us. He stayed strong, but eventually his health declined too much, and despite all efforts in the hospital, he passed away.

To this day, I miss him deeply. My mother and I often visit his grave, but it breaks my heart to see only a small wooden cross marking the place where he rests. He had no surviving family to provide for a headstone, and sadly, we don’t have the financial means to afford one ourselves.

That’s why I am reaching out for help. I want to honor his memory with the respect he truly deserves. He gave so much kindness and love during his life, and I want his final resting place to reflect that – not just a stick in the ground, but a proper headstone that shows he was valued and remembered.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and my mother. It would help us give him the dignity he earned through a lifetime of generosity, care, and love.
