On August 8th, our beautiful mother passed away after bravely fighting cancer for five long years. She was my everything — my greatest supporter, my safe place, and the most selfless person I’ve ever known.

I am so grateful that she lived long enough to see me graduate from South Broward High School and get accepted to Florida State University. Sadly, she passed away just days before my little sister began her final year of high school. Our mom and dad always put our needs above their own, making sure we had everything we needed to succeed in life.

Although we knew this day would eventually come, nothing could have prepared us for the heartbreak of saying goodbye. I will be leaving for Florida State on August 23rd, leaving my little sister and father to navigate this unimaginable loss together.

Between years of medical bills, regular family expenses, and the costs of getting me set up in Tallahassee, my father is now facing the added burden of paying for my mom’s funeral. We want nothing more than to give her the farewell she truly deserves — one that reflects the love, strength, and sacrifice she showed every single day of her life.
