De Ofori-Mintah Foundation vzw (O’mints Foundation) zet zich in voor het creëren van veilige, stimulerende leeromgevingen voor kinderen. Met deze inzamelingsactie willen we de Experimental Basic School in de Ashanti Regio van Ghana uit het verval halen en transformeren, waardoor de 100 jonge leerlingen die daar opgeleid worden een kans krijgen op een betere toekomst.

​Waarom zamelen we geld in? We werven fondsen voor renovatie om een veilige, uitnodigende en geschikte leeromgeving te creëren. Dit is essentieel om de toekomst van de school te verzekeren en ervoor te zorgen dat elk kind de kans krijgt op kwalitatief goed onderwijs.

​De Crisis aan de Experimental Basic School

​Aan de Experimental Basic School verkeren twee kleuterklassen in een crisistoestand. De muren brokkelen af, het dak lekt en het meubilair is kapot. Dit is meer dan een gebouw in verval; het is een directe bedreiging voor de veiligheid en het onderwijs van deze jonge studenten. Voor de 100 kinderen die deze school bezoeken, is dit hun enige kans op onderwijs.

​De staat van het gebouw heeft het moreel en de inschrijvingen ernstig beïnvloed. De toestand van de klaslokalen is zo slecht dat de kinderen niet gemotiveerd zijn om naar school te komen, en gezinnen in de gemeenschap willen hun kinderen niet naar zo'n school sturen. Zoals het schoolhoofd zelf in een officiële oproep schreef, heeft de school moeite om nieuwe studenten aan te trekken omdat de huidige toestand niet bevorderlijk is voor het leren, waardoor leden van de gemeenschap hun kinderen terugtrekken. We moeten dit veranderen om het voortbestaan van de school te garanderen.

​Ons Twee-Fasen Transformatieplan

​De O'mints Foundation lanceert een tweedelig renovatieproject om deze school weer tot leven te wekken.

​Fase 1: De Dringende Vernieuwing

•⁠ ⁠​We beginnen met de volledige renovatie van de twee kleuterklassen (KG-blokken). Dit omvat:

​Metselwerk: Het repareren van de muren en gebarsten vloeren.

•⁠ ⁠​Timmerwerk: Het vervangen van het versleten dak, de kapotte ramen en onstabiele deuren.

​Nieuw Meubilair: Het leveren van gloednieuwe, stevige tafels en stoelen voor beide klaslokalen om een veilige en functionele leerruimte te creëren voor onze jongste leerlingen.

​Fase 2: De Volledige Transformatie

​Zodra de dringende reparaties zijn voltooid, zullen we de hele buitenkant van de school schilderen om er een heldere, gastvrije plek van te maken voor alle leerlingen en de gemeenschap. Dit zal het moreel een impuls geven en meer studenten aantrekken, waardoor de toekomst van de school voor de komende jaren wordt verzekerd.

Transform Their Future: Rebuilding Experimental Basic School, Ashanti Region

​The Ofori-Mintah Foundation vzw(O'mints Foundation) is committed to creating safe, stimulating learning environments for children. With this fundraising campaign, we aim to transform the Experimental Basic School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana from disrepair, giving the 100 young students educated there a chance at a brighter future.

​Why are we raising money? We're raising funds for renovation to create a safe, welcoming, and conducive learning environment, thereby securing the school's future and ensuring every child has the opportunity for a quality education.

​The Crisis at Experimental Basic School

​At Experimental Basic School, two kindergarten classrooms are in a state of crisis. The walls are crumbling, the roof is leaking, and the furniture is broken. This isn't just a building in disrepair; it's a direct threat to the safety and education of these young students. For the 100 children who attend this school, this is their only opportunity for an education.

​The state of the building has severely impacted morale and enrollment. The condition of the classrooms is so poor that children are not motivated to attend, and families in the community do not want their wards to attend a school like that. As the headmaster himself wrote in an official appeal letter, the school is struggling to attract new students because the current condition is not conducive for learning, causing community members to withdraw their children. We must change this to guarantee the school's survival.

​Our Two-Phase Transformation Plan

​The O'mints Foundation is launching a two-part renovation project to bring this school back to life.

​Phase 1: The Urgent Renewal

​We will start by completely renovating the two KG blocks. This includes:

- ​Masonry Work: Repairing the walls and cracked floors.

​- Carpentry Work: Replacing the worn-out roof, broken windows, and unstable doors.

​- New Desks: Providing brand-new, stable desks and chairs for both classrooms to create a safe and functional learning space for our youngest learners.

​Phase 2: The Full Transformation

​Once the urgent repairs are complete, we will paint the entire exterior of the school to make it a bright, welcoming place for all students and the community. This will help boost morale and attract more students, securing the school's future for years to come.
