Help University of Oxford students take Unprofessional by Oisín Byrne to the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Hi! We're Oisín and Eva, writer and director of Unprofessional, a new play heading to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer after a sold-out run at the Burton Taylor studio in Oxford. We'll be performing from the 1st-9th August at theSpace @ Niddry Street at 19:25!

Unprofessional follows Guy, a jobbing actor whose blind enthusiasm, sub-par ability and unhealthy obsession with Matt Damon leaves him in a rut. He can’t seem to exist anywhere except on his couch, in the pub or on the set of low-budget adverts. Can Guy survive in an industry which seems to be conspiring against him? More importantly, can the company of Unprofessional make it through opening night? Inspired in equal parts by Tim Crouch and The Play That Goes Wrong, this new ‘laugh-out-loud meta-comedy’ (Daily Info) takes aim at self-serious actors, expectant audiences and everyone in between.

We are a cast and crew of 6 young theatre-makers, excited to show our work to new audiences at the biggest arts festival in the world. However, we need your help to get this show on the road.

Any donation, big or small, would help us with:

Accommodation costs, making sure our cast and crew are housed in a safe and comfortable environment during the festival
Marketing costs, in order to promote our show to audiences in and around Edinburgh
Other costs, including venue hire and transport to and from Edinburgh
