Help us get to the Olympics of Hip Hop Dance

We're Kookies n Kream dance team, more like a family filled with passionate individuals rocking since 2010. We rehearse every Sunday 1-8 pm, where we create magic with 30 of the most talented, hard-working people you could ever meet from all corners of Sydney. Everyone chips in to pay for studio hire and any leftovers we save for a special occasion, like the night on May 8 when we won our first ever Gold Medal at the HIP HOP NATIONALS in Brisbane. We bought pizza.

Our dream was to win Gold since the first time we competed back in 2014; although we have come close, we have never stood on top. Winning isn't everything, but it was always a dream to at least once be called a Champion, to stand on top and enjoy the view. We did it last May 8, scoring the highest of the night against the best dance teams in the country. This historic win has earned us the right to represent Australia at the 2022 World Hip Hop International (to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, the USA, from 6-13th August).

WHAT IS HIP HOP INTERNATIONAL? Dubbed the “Olympics of Hip Hop Dance”, Hip Hop International or HHI is highly regarded as one of the world's biggest and most prestigious dance competitions, with more than 3500 dancers from 50 countries performing and competing. This is our State of Origins, our Wimbledon, our Superbowl; you get the point. :)

However, despite this opportunity, getting to Arizona is another challenge we must overcome. Funding is greatly needed for costs ranging from flights and accommodation to studio hire for rehearsals, costumes, etc. With 30+ members, this will cost more than an arm and a leg, so this is why we’re reaching out for your kind support.
