Help us get to the NAHJ Conference!

The University of Arizona NAHJ chapter is gearing up for the 2024 NAHJ 40th Conference and Expo in Hollywood, California and we need your help! We have worked hard to fundraise these last two semesters, and we have managed to be successful!
Last semester, we held a week-long fundraiser, selling horchata, jamaica, and champurrado, alongside some pan dulce. However, we still have a long way to go to fund our trip, which is where you come in. As journalists with sound ethics and academic training, we are asking you to invest in the future of journalism by donating to our GoFundMe campaign to help send us to Hollywood.
The funds would go towards paying for lodging, travel expenses, registration fees, and other expenses incurred on the trip. As we mentioned previously, we have some funds, but not enough to cover the entirety of the trip. We are looking to send 5 students so that we can enhance our skills at the convention and share what we learned with our colleagues at the UA.
During the trip, we will gain invaluable skills and mentorship that will help us become better journalists and stay more connected with other journalists around us. The conference offers many panels where we will have the unique opportunity to access exclusive knowledge and tips from seasoned journalists all in a span of a few days. What we learn at the conference will be taken back to the students at the University of Arizona’s School of Journalism and disseminated through workshops, mentorship, and word of mouth.
We have already achieved so many amazing feats throughout our chapter’s existence: held a scholarship workshop, hosted a website-building workshop, invited notable speakers, led community-building events, and so much more. And we have much more planned!
