Get Kelly home from Jamaica on life support to be with us

Hello Everyone my name is Shannon Horner I am Kelly Beckerley‘s one and only child. My amazing mama bear left for Jamaica with her bestie on Friday April 5th for a 7 day vacation!!!

almost immediately she was having difficulty breathing, on Sunday and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital and after many attempts to stabilize her she is now on a ventilator fighting for her life. Things have been incredibly stressful and difficult Having to deal with so much red tape in a different Everything including some medical costs are ALL OUT OF POCKET!!!

We have managed to get her Husband Ted to Jamaica to be by her side and advocate for her. Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who have reached out, sent prayers and positive vibes. Thank you to those who have taken the time to share this go fund me and those who have donated we can’t thank you enough.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY APRIL 10th

Kelly is still in critical condition and is on life support. She was responsive even tho she is heavily sedated atm. Good news right, we do have the Canadian embassy involved. I will keep sharing updated on my Facebook page and sending messages to close family members and friends.

update April 13th

My mom is still in Jamaica on life support trying to get her home has been more difficult we have so many out of pocket expenses.

We are so grateful for everyone who is sending prayers and support!!! Please keep sharing my moms story we need to get her home. Waiting on insurance to get her a bed back in Niagara just waiting on paperwork

Update April 15th

still waiting on a bed to be available we are currently being told that everything is ready to go for mom to fly. However there are currently zero beds available anywhere in Ontario. I am not accepting this as an answer. My mom needs to be home it’s been 8 days now and we have been approved by doc and insurance for a couple days but not 1 bed this is so hard on the family. Ted is still with her while we wait our family thanks you for our support. I will move mountains to her back home to us asap .

April 20

My mom is currently back from Jamaica she is in stable but critical condition. She is currently on a ventilator and is in a coma. She had a cardiac arrest due to respiratory failure in the ambulance on the way to Jamaica. They are concerned about cognitive function due to lack of oxygen during this time. My mom hasn’t regained consciousness since. She was left for 8 days in a hospital in another country with only her husband by her side. I had to get the media and then they Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Ontario Health minister Sylvia jones and Jennie Stevens officials involved to her get my mom back home. My mom was cleared to fly almost immediately after being stabilized. Our family was let down by the people we trusted to have her back in case of a medical emergency.

now we wait for more updates from the doc and we wait to see if she wakes up. Medical bills and the cost of her husband having to go to Jamaica are piling up. So we appreciate you helping our family so much know it’s a blessing
