Help Us Get to Dance Camera West!!!

Amazing news! Erin Thompson and Caitlin Hammel’s dance film Reckless, blooming., choreographed by Bebe Miller, has been chosen for the prestigious Los Angeles film festival Dance Camera West! It takes place soon - January 19-21, 2023.

But we need your help. We need to raise $2,500 to make this opportunity a reality.

We have secured our plane tickets, festival tickets and hotel, however, for Reckless, blooming. to be screened at the festival, we need to pay for music licensing. The original production of Reckless, blooming. had a small film crew and a low budget, and the amount being asked for music licensing this time rivals our entire budget for the original production of the film. That’s because this is a MAJOR festival.

How did our film come about? In 2019, Erin Thompson was awarded a McKnight Dancer Fellowship. As part of the Fellowship, she asked choreographer Bebe Miller to create a solo for her and selected Caitlin Hammel as her videographer once the project shifted to a film format. Our dance film, Reckless, blooming. premiered in the fall of 2021, and we submitted it to the Dance Camera West film festival for consideration. We were thrilled to hear we were selected. What an honor!
