Hello, my name is Dawn Hornby and I currently live with the monstrosity of the cruise ship virtually in my back garden.
Please Help Astley & Mosley Common Stand Up Against Mega-Warehouses
I am part of the “We are the Astley & Mosley Common Warehouses Action Group” - a community of hundreds of local residents who have come together to protect our homes, school, and environment from the impact of the massive warehouse development currently being built beside us.
Why we need your help
• The warehouses will stand 18 metres high, towering over two-storey homes and Garrett Hall Primary School.
• They have been approved for 24/7 operations, meaning night-time noise, diesel HGVs, light pollution, and disrupted sleep.
• Local residents submitted over 100 objections, but the Planning Committee recorded only 70. Concerns were dismissed and the development was waved through.
• Many residents were never properly consulted, with searches during house purchases failing to reveal the true scale of what was planned.
• Already, people are reporting cracks in homes, falling property values, mental health impacts, and sleepless nights.
What your donation will fund
We are ordinary families, parents, and grandparents taking on a giant developer. To do this properly we need resources:
• Legal advice - exploring Judicial Review, professional negligence, and enforcing planning conditions.
• Expert surveys - noise, air quality, structural, and fire safety assessments.
• Campaign materials - banners, leaflets, printing, and community events.
• Public pressure - professional advice on media, petitions, and lobbying.
Why it matters
This isn’t just about Astley & Mosley Common. If this is allowed to happen here, it sets a dangerous precedent for warehouse giants to be built right next to homes and schools anywhere in the UK.
Our promise
Every penny raised will go directly into the fight - whether on legal fees, expert reports, or campaign costs. The Steering Group will keep full transparency and update supporters regularly on how funds are used.
Together we can show that communities have a voice, and that residents deserve better than being ignored in the face of corporate power.
Please donate what you can and share this page widely - Thankyou Everyone!
