Hi my name is Alexa and this is my little dog Simba. He’s not just a dog, he’s more like family to us. He’s been with us since he was born and he’s 2 years old. He’s turning 3 on June.

Unfortunately today, 2/22, he was bit and attacked by a Pitbull around 3pm. Simba was rushed to the emergency vet by the Pitbulls owner. Once we arrived, they informed us that they’ve never had a case this bad until today. They explained his injuries once they got our permission to get him x-rays. The doctor told us he has a broken jaw, a punctured lung, a huge bite neck, and many bite wounds. After waiting around 8pm, they informed us they were understaffed and this wasn’t the best place to keep him because his wounds are so bad. They called and placed a spot for Simba in a 24/7 Vet Hospital. Once we saw Simba, it was so hard seeing him in that state, he had his mouth bandaged up since his jaw is broken. He was wrapped in a blanket, and his hair was red ish from the blood. Once we got to the 24/7 Vet Hospital and called saying we arrived. They immediately got out and took Simba rushing back inside. After a while, the vet said he might not make it through the night since his neck was swelling. Making it hard for him to breathe. He is being admitted for two days and the cost was up to $3,000. We were overwhelmed from the cost since we were charged for $2,000 from the last vet hospital. 

Once we got an update this morning, the vet said he was doing much better since last night. He had a weak pulse and couldn’t breathe on his own. Now he has a steady pulse and can breathe on his own. We got so happy from the news. We were also informed that he will be needing a jaw surgery, and another one for his lung penetration which is approximately 6,000 in total.

Even through all this sadness and pain, we need help pay for his surgeries. It’s hard seeing him in this condition. And it’s hard knowing we don’t have enough funds for his surgery’s.
