Hello, my name is Danny and I am hoping to raise funds to bring Rex to our home in the UK . While staying with relatives in Romania we heard a dog crying in pain and tracked down Rex to a nearby garden where he was chained up extremely tightly as you can see from the horrendous pictures. I don't know where he found the strength from but he had actually dug a hole in the rock hard ground just big enough for his head and neck to try and escape the flies. I truly couldn't believe my eyes with what I was seeing! We gave him some water and food and I drove to a nearby hardware store and bought some bolt cutters whilst my wife had managed to phone various people to try and get some professional help. We returned to Rex to cut his chains but I didn't realise how tight they were around his neck and me not thinking clearly I cut the chains to his fixed steak in the ground. We didn't expect it as he was extremely weak but once he realised he was free he leapt a fence and ran off. Now we really panicked because we thought we wouldn't see him again. After we had searched calling for him for sometime Florin arrived (more about him later) and this was the help my wife had been calling for on the phone. After searching for what seemed an eternity we went back to our relatives house exhausted intending to have a break and continue the search afterwards. We couldn't believe it when Rex came up to the gate but then scampered off. Me Florin and my wife followed Rex and once Rex stopped from exhaustion Florin managed to give him anaesthetic we got him into a create and to a vet. Rex is recovering amazingly as he was touch and go as to whether he would survive and the vet said he hadn't seen anything like this before which in Romania is quite something! I have never asked for money in the past and this is all new to me but I am asking if you could find it in your hearts for any donations so we can continue Rex recovery the vet bills food and accommodation untill he is fit enough to obtain a pet passport and I will personally drive my 20 year old van to him in Romania and bring him home. Rex and countless other dogs would not be alive now if it wasn't for Florin. This man works 2 jobs is looking after 50+ other dogs and cats and desperately needs help to feed and look after them . Some people may think the £2000 I am asking for is a lot for me to drive to Romania and bring Rex home but if I raise the full amount anything left from this will go to Florins animals needs. I will take photographs of every receipt so everyone knows where every penny is going. I am hopeful that this could be the start of bigger things regarding helping animals in Romania. I would love to be able to help Florin build some proper shelters for his animals and set up adoption to the UK for them and be directly involved with transportation etc but to start with I need to rescue Rex.
