Hey There!
We are Chrissy and Omar Dasco-Uribe. We are life partners, co-founders of Ohms Collective, and co-creators of Big Brain Superfood Snacks.
Since 2021 we have been developing a line of brain boosting products thoughtfully formulated to nourish the bodies and brains of people young and old.
We have a shared vision to heal people with food both by delivering higher quality functional foods to consumers of all ages, and by providing consumers with the information and education necessary to promote conscious consumption.
What does this mean?
1.) We create delicious and nutritious snack foods in small batches using high quality, organic ingredients. AND, we stack our products with medicinal mushrooms and adaptogens that promote balance, reduce stress, provide energy, and optimize brain function in ways that are truly felt.
2.) We are committed to transparency and value education. We aim to provide information about where we source our ingredients from and the quantities of medicinal mushrooms used in our products in addition to creating educational content across a broad array of topics surrounding holistic wellness.
With Omar's experience and professional training in culinary arts and mycology and Chrissy's background as a mentor and educator we strive to build a mission-driven brand founded on the values of education, holistic wellness, sustainability, transparency, and community.
Some of our long-term goals and big-picture visions include:
- having a booth at the Ojai Certified Farmers Market on Sundays
- operating a medicinal mushroom farm where we grow all of the mushrooms that go into our products and teach mushroom cultivation
- creating wholesale purchasing partnerships with small farmers who are committed to regenerative agriculture to ensure our products are as good for the earth as they are for our bodies and brains
- developing a non-profit that provides resources to homeschoolers to promote child-centered and self-directed educational programing
But here's the thing
We can't even begin to sell our products without the necessary permits of which there are many. And each of these permits includes fees in the hundreds.
- $114 Business License Fee
- $356 Shared Commercial Kitchen Facility Permit Application Fee
- $456 Processed Food Registration
- $100 Processed Food Registration Application Fee
- $349 Mobile Food Facility Registration Fee (needed for selling packaged food at Sunday Ojai Certified Farmers Market)
So as you can see there are many fees standing between us and our ability to sell products to you. We are asking for your help to get these permits paid for so that we can legally sell our Big Brain Superfood Snacks and continue on our journey towards building a better-for-you brand.
We cannot sell products at the moment but we can accept donations and give gifts.
A $5-$49 donation is super appreciated and will get you some stickers in the mail if you give us your address
A $50-$74 donation is super duper appreciated and will get you a single jar of Big Brain Butter
A $75-$124 donation is super duper appreciated and will get you either a 6 pack of Big Brain Bars, or a Big Brain Butter duo
A $125-$199 donation is extra super duper appreciated and will get you both a 6 pack of Big Brain Bars and a Big Brain Butter duo
A $200-$1,000 donation is extra extra super duper appreciated and will get you a 6 pack of Big Brain Bars, a Big Brain Butter duo, and a limited edition Moms in Support of Microdosing t-shirt
All donations will go directly towards paying our permitting fees so that we can get back to the business of doing what we love and bringing you the products that we know you'll love.
