Help Us Get out of Homelessness& Find a Safe Place to Live!

This past week, our lives were turned upside down. A pipe burst in our landlord’s sink, and we came home to find our apartment flooded—water pouring from the bathroom ceiling through the light fixtures. On Tuesday (with no warning), we were told we could no longer stay there and our things were being packed up into a storage pod. To make things worse, our landlord is turning the apartment into a 1-bedroom during repairs. Even if we wanted to return, we can’t.
We are now homeless, scrambling to find somewhere to live. Financially, we’re not prepared—moving costs $9-10k (3 months rent) upfront for deposits, rent, and broker fees. Despite applying everywhere and even working with a realtor, we’ve had no luck.
What breaks my heart the most is seeing Maddie, our little girl, struggling. She keeps asking, “When are we going home? Why can’t we go home?” I have no answers for her.
We’re currently in a hotel that costs $86 a day, with mounting expenses we can’t afford. Between application fees, gas for endless apartment visits, and relying on takeout because cooking here is so hard, we’re drowning.
This isn’t easy for me to share, but we’re desperate. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.
