Hi everyone,

I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but right now our family needs help.

Our son has recently been accepted into a specialized SIPP long-term inpatient program in Texas that focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders and autism. After a long and difficult journey trying to find the right level of care for him, we are incredibly grateful that he has been given this opportunity. This program is designed to provide the intensive support, structure, and therapy he needs to stabilize and learn the skills necessary to thrive.

While insurance is covering his flight to the facility, our family is responsible for many of the travel and related expenses that come with getting him there and participating in his treatment.

These costs include:

• Rental car to Texas and back

• Hotel accommodations during intake and visits

• Food and daily expenses during travel

• Gas and tolls for travel related to the trip

• Required clothing and personal items from the program’s intake list

• Future travel costs for required family therapy sessions and visits

• Lost wages while I am away from work during this process

As a parent, the hardest part of this journey is knowing we will have to be apart from him while he receives treatment. But we also know this program could be life-changing for his future.
