Hello everyone this GoFundMe is to help us bring my sister, her husband, and our 4-year-old nephew Damian back home. My sister and her family were on their way to Mexico on an emergency visit due to her father-in-law's health condition becoming worse.

I received a phone call at 10pm Monday evening from my brother-in-law's family stating they had been pulled over and unlawfully detained as they made their way through Sinaloa to Nayarit. My sister, nephew, and brother-in-law were stripped of their documents, money, vehicle, and other belongings & then taken to a jail in Guasave, Sinaloa with no report of why they were being detained. My sister was able to call me frantically worried about my nephew whom they had taken from her and told her he would be put in "D.I.F" government custody.

Our family here in the U.S, and other family members in Mexico, are doing what we can to gather information, hire an attorney, call the embassy, and get them all home ASAP. They are being wrongfully accused & detained all because they did not have the amount that was asked by the police for a "safe pass". I understand many will have different opinions but we ask that you respect our situation and not bring forth any negative comments. If you find it in your heart to contribute, the funds will be used to help pay attorney fees, travel fees, and other expenses to be able to get my little nephew, sister, and brother-in-law out of that place and back home. Nothing is too small, any contribution is very welcome, we also appreciate prayers and positive thoughts. Our main priority is the child as he cannot fend for himself.
