Help us get Mason the diagnosis he needs.

Hi, I’m Kimberley and I’m reaching out for help for my 14-year-old son, Mason. Mason has been in a specialist school since the age of 6, and while asking for financial support is not easy for me, as a parent, I will do whatever it takes to ensure Mason is happy and able to thrive. He deserves so much more than what the local authority is currently offering.

As Mason has grown, his struggles have intensified, and his current diagnoses of MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) are not sufficient to secure him a place at the education setting he desperately needs. Despite being offered a place over four months ago, the local authority has refused to fund it, leaving us no choice but to appeal and prepare for a tribunal.

It’s heartbreaking to watch Mason struggle daily, knowing that specialist schools in our area could meet his needs and help him flourish. However, with CAMHS waiting lists stretching over three years, we cannot afford to wait. To strengthen our case, I am fundraising for a private autism assessment to provide the additional evidence needed to secure Mason’s place at the right school. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we fight for Mason’s future.
