If you've ever caught a ride on the shuttle bus during Small World Festival, chances are you've met Iggy – our cheerful, reliable, and much-loved driver of over 20 years. Every single day of the festival, he runs the shuttle service without joining in the fun himself – and he does it entirely on donations. Every penny donated goes straight back into keeping the wheels turning, and keeping the tank full during the festival.
But there's more to Iggy's story.
Over the years there have been damages caused to the shuttle bus and while bucket donations have helped cover some of the costs though the years, the full extent of the damages made repairs nearly impossible, especially as parts for his model were no longer available.
He has been hiring vehicles the past few years just to keep the shuttle service going. It's expensive, and any damage – even if accidental – comes out of his own pocket. Yet, he's never once asked for anything in return.
Recently, we overheard him saying he'd love to buy another minibus – just £3,000 would be enough to get a decent sized minibus and finally free him from hire costs.
So here’s the plan: Let’s come together as a community and raise that £3k. Every extra pound raised will go toward getting him, and all of us Smallworlders, an even better ride – something more comfortable and reliable that we can all enjoy together, so he can keep doing what he does best: getting us safely to and from the action.
Iggy's contribution is part of what makes it all possible. Now here's our chance to say thank you and show him just how appreciated he really is.
Please donate what you can, and share the link. Thank you
